Program Description:
July Experience @ Davidson is a three-week summer, academic enrichment residential program on the campus of one of the nation’s premier liberal arts colleges. Academically-motivated rising juniors and seniors are able to push themselves academically and get a taste of the type of thinking and work they will be called upon to do at the college level.
Students take two courses that meet 90 minutes daily. June 30 - July 21, 2012 offerings include:
• Three Pounds, One Quadrillion Synapses: Discovering the Frontiers of Neuroscience
• Hitler and Nazi Germany
• Listening to Fear: Music and Visual Media
• Work and Occupations in Modern Society
• Climate Change and Energy Choices
• Reading and Writing American Literature
• The Family and Justice
• Biology of HIV/AIDS
• Social Movements and Youth
• So You Think You Want to be a Doctor?
• Literature and Writing: East and West
• What's Happening in Mathematics?
Students enjoy a variety of activities: visits to our Lake Campus, going to the fitness center, team games, tournaments, dances, rafting at the U.S. National Whitewater Center and trips to Charlotte's cultural venues. Davidson's Admissions provides a workshop.
Students must adhere to the Davidson College Honor Code.

Housing: Traditional Residence Hall setting, single-gender floors, coed building. Hall Counselors are current Davidson College students.
Cost / Availability of Financial Aid: $3500 comprehensive fee, plus books and personal spending. Limited financial aid available. Students seeking aid will be required to submit an application for aid at the time of their admission application.
Credit Awarded: No College Credit, but courses are graded.
