Program Description:

Established in 2007, the Big Horn Basin Foundation's Dinosaur Academy is a week long program for high school students that explores the many aspects and disciplines of paleontology. As a participant, you will spend a week in the dinosaur quarries and state-of-the-art laboratory facility of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis, Wyoming. The 16,000 square foot museum contains over 24 mounted dinosaurs as well as hundreds of other incredible specimens on display, including the only Archaeopteryx displayed in the western hemisphere.

You will study the life and death of the dinosaurs you discover, their habits and the environment in which they lived. You will learn surveying, mapping, collection management, recording data and molding and casting. If you plan to pursue an education in geology, anatomy, biology, zoology, chemistry or physics, the Dinosaur Academy is for you! If you want to learn about dinosaurs you won't find a better program anywhere. We invite you to join us in Thermopolis, Wyoming for an experience of a lifetime. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "Tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember; involve me and I learn."
