Program Description:
Aspire by API is the high school and gap year division of Academic Programs International (API), an educational organization that has been sending university students abroad to study since 1997. Aspire by API is dedicated to providing comprehensive summer study abroad programs for high school students in Costa Rica, England, France, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. Each of our language and cultural immersion programs is different in terms of course of study and extracurricular activities, but all provide students with educational opportunities to learn and develop relevant global skills in an exciting, enriching, safe, and secure setting. When not in class, students will be taking part in cultural activities in their host city, and traveling around their host country on several planned excursions. Some programs also offer students the opportunity to live with a host family and earn college credit. Make the most of your summer vacation through an Aspire by API summer program!

"I participated in the Aspire by API program in Paris, France in July 2010 and the whole experience was great! The entire month was meticulously planned and jam-packed with interesting cultural events and excursions. The typical craziness of better-known attractions like the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay was balanced by fun, calm, and guided walks along the streets of Montmartre and Le Marais among other great events. There was something new to see everyday! For someone who went into the program knowing relatively little about French culture, Aspire by API's comprehensive exploration of Paris quickly made me love it. Also, the API France resident directors - Anne Marie and Melissa - are absolutely amazing!
The classes at the Institut Catholique de Paris were within walking distance of our residence and were split between grammar and pronunciation. All of the instruction was given in French, so even in just a month, my language skills improved greatly!
All in all, I would most definitely recommend this program to anyone who is the slightest bit interested in the French language and the rich culture of Paris, or just plain looking for a great summer.
