Program Description:
Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS) is a summer abroad, service learning program for high school and college students. The program, founded in 1965, empowers young adults to grow as leaders and increase their multi-cultural understanding through training and community service projects in Latin America.
As an AMIGOS Volunteer, you will live with a host family and immerse yourself in the language and culture of your host community. You will be living in a community with only one or two other AMIGOS Volunteers, so you will get the opportunity to take ownership of your project and truly experience collaborative development work.
During its 46-year history, more than 24,000 AMIGOS Volunteers have participated as AMIGOS Volunteers. So when you return home, you join a strong network of Amigos who can support you in your future endeavors.
