"I've gone to Action quest for three years going on my fourth and each time is so much better than the first. i learn so much about myself, meet so many new interesting people that i thought i would never have had the chance to meet. at action quest it is a place i feel like I'm finally at my home with my family i met on my boat. if you are thinking about joining to action quest stop thinking and sign up it may just be the best descison of your life, and I'm not exaggerating. action quest changed my life it is definately worth every cent."

"After 3 years at ActionQuest, i think i can safely say it is the best summer program of its kind there is. The combination of sports, friends and education is perfect for a teen summer experience. Every year was full of suprises and adventures. One year i swam after a turtle for an hour, the next i came less than a metre away from a dolphin. I had never seen either of these magnificent marine animals and i will never forget the feeling of being so close to them. I really recommend ActionQuest, whether marine life interests you or not!"

"WOW! For the past 4 years I have sailed and dove with ActionQuest. If I weren't obsessed, why would I come back so often? There are so many reasons to come to AQ, but here is a basic summary of what your experience at AQ will be like. 1. The staff members are some of the most interesting people you will ever have the opportunity to meet. Coming from all over the world, the staff bring their unique skills and talents with them to teach us the art of sailing and diving. I have never lived on-board with a staff member who I didn't have the utmost respect for. Nobody ever has a problem with finding a staff member they can comfortably confide in. You'll probably come out of AQ super jealous of your skipper's life! 2. Your shipmates come from many different countries, almost all of the boats have at least one person from outside the US! You will get to know your shipmates VERY well. When you're living with these people 24/7 on a 50x20 foot boat, you get really close, really fast! These people become your best friends for life--most people say that they are closer with their AQ friends than their "land" friends (certainly true to me!). We really become like a family! 3. The sailing. It's almost always beautiful weather, perfect for sailing. The sun is up, gentle waves brush up against the boat, and wind readily fills the sails. Be prepared for some serious teamwork! 4. The diving. The BVI is home to some of the top dive spots in the world. All dive instructors and dive masters are very experienced and attentive underwater, assuring our safety. It's absolutely beautiful diving. "Action Quest has been an unbelievable experience for my son Chadd. He has learned to be independent, has meet the best friends in the campers as well as the staff and has found an even bigger love for the water. "I wanted to share some information for parents of teens ages 13 thru college, about ActionQuest Sailing and Scuba camp in the BVIs. Any parent thinking of summer camp for a teen this summer needs to take a hard look at this program. It has been a key opportunity for my daughter. It provides teens with goals and more than just a camp trophy at the end of their summer. They earn international navigational certifications, well respected yachting crew certifications, PADI scuba certifications, environmental, etc.. They also learn how to work as a crew, feed themselves, care for their boat. My daughter has even tagged rare turtles! The care and professionalism of the staff is leagues beyond any summer camp our family has experienced. The price is surprising when compared to many of the summer camps many of us use...I am not one for "plugging" a business but, I feel that there are many families that would love to give their teen a safe environment to take those risks they are bound to take. This group does a wonderful job. "

"Only the best can be said about every aspect of this program. My daughter found the program herself on the internet and after looking at it, I told her she could go: This was the best decision she and I have made to date in terms of her development and growing awareness of the world around her. The friends she has made continue to stay in contact, life on the boat was great fun, the certifications in diving and sailing are a great bonus and the staff are wonderful. This was the third year my daughter has attended Actionquest and of course she will go next summer. Although there are financial sacrifices to be made, the program more than deserves it---the cost of running such a well run and well outfitted program is expensive. After raising four children I have learned that experience and exposure make all the difference in the world. My daughter has met friends from all over the world, has laughed and worked and played with them and learned to live on a small boat with a variety of people responsibly. I can't say enough for the program. And, I must add, I am proud of myself for seeing the value in it and making it possible for my daughter to go. One of the best decisions I have made in terms of contributing to her life. "

"My boat was pretty uncooperative, but they were just being teenage boys. :) The weather was pretty good for the second half of the voyage. My favorite parts were the lifeworks forums and movie + brownie nights. :) As for the diving, I couldn't have asked for a better program. "

"ActionQuest is the adventure of a life time, and one that changed my life. I came back with a new confidence I had never had before, as well as an amazingly close knit group of friends, from all areas of the globe, who over the course of 3 weeks went from strangers to family. While the certifications and skills learned in scuba diving and sailing are life long skills and instil responsibility, ActionQuest is about so much more than sailing and scuba diving. It is about self-discovery, team work, and a new world of opportunities. The ActionQuest staff were absolutely amazing and have continued to provide me with support and advice long after I left the BVI's. They love what they do, and it shows. The Lifeworks forum was also a very important part of the experience for me and came at a time in life when I needed it. It not only helped me gain an appreciation for what I have to offer, but also helped me to realize that reaching out to others and making the most of every day are ideas to live by. ActionQuest is unlike any other summer program I have done, and by far the best summer experience of my life. And on top of all that, it all takes place in one of the most beautiful environments in the world! "

"We cannot speak highly enough the ActionQuest programme. This is an outstanding experience for teenagers. It is run with the highest standards of professionalism whilst offering an environment where young students learn responsibility for themselves and others, gain professional qualifications and all whilst living in paradise and having the time of their lives. Our son was 17 when he first went and made lasting freindships, wished he had known about ActionQuest earlier and said this was without doubt, the best experience he had ever had during his summer vacation, he wants to return to do the Seamester trip. Our daughter 16 has returned this year having experienced the Vega course, and now the Marine Biology course. She states: "there is nothing to compare with this experience. One arrives, embarks on a three week boat trip, with approximately 10 other shipmates, who one has never met before, (as well as engaging with all the other crew members on the other boats) and the adventure begins. One will be stripped of all the accoutrements of life and the layers of pretence will peal off. This is where you learn to get on with different characters, work together as a team, gain qualifications for life, realise that whoever you are, you cannot survive without responsibility, accountability, focus and laughter!" This is a well planned, well executed and detailed expedition with every consideration for the welfare and health, (mentally and physically) of the young adult.
