Academic Connections 2012 - Session II - Big Island of Hawaii

Program Description:

This hands-on, extensive one-week participatory research science course is made possible by the newly formed UC San Diego Academic Connections/The Kohala Center partnership. This course will examine the diverse ecosystems and climate zones that are found on the Island of Hawai'i. Students enrolled in this course will come to appreciate and take the lead in sustaining our planet environmentally.

Program Dates / Length: Either July 10-17 or August 6-13, 2012

Housing: We will be staying at a military camp and camping out in the lava fields

Cost / Availability of Financial Aid: $100 non-refundable application fee $3,350 residential fee - tuition, room, all meals, activities, materials and equipment (does not include airfare)

Credit Awarded: 3 college prep units
